A horror film shot in Minnesota last spring has released a trailer on YouTube. Originally titled “Dead of Winter,” then “Dead of Night,” the film is now called “Killer Movie.” According to the trailer, it will be released this summer.

The College of Saint Scholastica will screen a series of four films by Swedish director Ingmar Bergman. The series will begin on Friday, November 30, with “Smiles of a Summer Night” (1955). All films will be shown in the Science Building auditorium on Scholastica’s Duluth campus. They are free and open to the public.
Bergman died in July of this year. He was one of the most influential filmmakers in film history with a career that spanned six decades.

- 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 – “The Seventh Seal” (1957)
- 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7 – “Wild Strawberries” (1957)
- 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 – “Autumn Sonata” (1978)
The film festival is sponsored by The College of St. Scholastica Library and the Department of Communication, Theatre and Art.

“Remember Minnesota” Scouts Locations in Bismark, ND
November 12, 2007According to a report filed by CBS affiliate KXMB-TV, “Remember Minnesota,” a feature film project about an underdog University of Minnesota rowing team, recently scouted locations in Bismark, ND. Producers Brad Melby and John Carroll Lynch (Fargo, Zodiac, Grumpy Old Men) are featured in the news story.

A Serious Delay; Coen Brothers Project Rescheduled for Summer Start
November 10, 2007The Minnesota Film and TV Board Website is reporting that the Coen Brothers production “A Serious Man” is being postponed because of ongoing industry labor negotiations. Originally scheduled to begin pre-production in January, “A Serious Man” now hopes to begin pre-production in June and principal photography in August.
